Well it is offically fall! We have seen lots of Deer activity in our neck of the woods. Here is a doe and her baby. Opening day of hunting season starts tomarrow, so watch out guys!!
I am not sure whether this bird belongs on the Adam's Family show or the Monster's, but he has taken up residence in our back yard on the log pile! Notice his feet on the dead branch.
This Blue Jay made off with a mouthfull of corn. I took this picture because I liked the color contrast between the Blue Jay and the bright yellow corn.
My husband and I were out for a Sunday drive when as luck would have it we spotted a field of bucks! There were five bucks altogether, but I could only get three of them in my view finder for this shot. They are standing in a field of wild mustard.
I was visiting Lincoln Log Cabin State Park today with my mom and my sister. There were lots of things to take pictures of. I saw this handsom "wooly" sheep and he seemed to be smiling at me when I took his picture!
I didn't know what this bird was at first. I looked it up in my bird book and was pleasently surprised to find out it was a female grosbeak! It loves to eat the suet at our feeder but has a hard time getting a bite threw the cage wire with that big beak!
t took a lot of patience to get this picture. I saw this beautiful male Grosbeak at my sisters house in Greenup. It was a little camera shy, but I was able to snap this photo.
After sunning his front side this turkey Buzzard turned around and showed me his back side! Ha ha Soon after a blue Jay swooped down and pecked him and he flew off.
My husband discovered this Box Turtle while we were out mushroom hunting. I thought it made an interesting picture since it was under this "shelf fungi" at the base of a rotted out stump.
It was a beautiful spring afternoon and I found myself on a walk in our woods when I spotted something move up ahead of me on the trail. It was a HUGE racoon! I made some noise to alert it of my presence. I thought it would turn and run away but to my horror it lowered it's head and came straight at me! I had goosebumps from the bottom of my feet to the top of my head! I managed to snap this picture as I turned and hurriedly headed for home.
The newest member of the morning bunch! Everyone likes alittle OJ in the morning. This gorgeous bright orange Oriole is a welcome sight at our bird feeders!
This mom has been up all night with the triplets and all she wants this morning is a bit of peace and quiet. Who has time to do your hair when there is three crying babies back in the nest to feed and clean up after!
